Downtown...

My friend Kim is fearless when it comes to fashion. She always finds a way to take a casual item, like a Nike tank top in this case, and work it to create THE coolest outfit. Her style is eclectic, fun, and has a serious downtown vibe to it. So, for today's post I thought I'd celebrate her style.

I mean...she fancy huh?!

SO!Cal Fun

I just got back from a fantastic 10-day vacation in Southern California! My first stop - West Hollywood. From there I drove down, with a couple of friends, to the (almost always) sunny San Diego to visit ma famille!
I am truly the WORST packer on the face of the earth. I am far too familiar with those $25 oversized luggage fees. So, before this trip, I planned out my outfits ahead of time. Including two fancier ensembles and then some casual pieces that I could mix and match. Like my Willow and Clay Anorak, boyfriend jeans, or Asos sleeveless button up. I was also careful to limit my shoes to 4 pairs.

My suitcase consisted of the following...

Bouchon in Beverly Hills. The tastiest brioche grilled cheese with tomato soup.

A beautiful day at San Diego's Seaport Village. With mood-appropriate sky-writing to boot!

Nativescapes Garden at the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park.

Dancin' Shoes

I would definitely consider myself a flats person. And sadly, it is a rare occasion for me to throw on a pair of high heels. So, whenever I want to jazz or dress up an ensemble I go for a great pair of loafers. Loafers and smoking slippers are truly the bee's knees!
The thing I've found most important when sporting these fancy slip-ons is to show them off. So, I usually wear mine with a cropped slack or an ankle jean.

Gettin' Crafty

This week I decided to get crafty! With some help from Honestlywtf.com, Ace Hardware, and my friend Emily, the brass nut bracelet was born.

Wanna attempt makin' this sweet bracelet on your own...
                    All you need:
18 brass or silver hex nuts
                        6 Strands of Twine
(everything is available at your local hardware store)
                          How To: http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-braided-hex-nut-bracelet/

I'm always inspired by Emily's knack for stacking bracelets...

So, I had her put together some arm candy with our final creation!
